BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM ( BLIS® )
Blind spots. No car design has ever been able to totally eliminate them. So we’ve given you the next best thing. Another ‘set of eyes’ that looks out for vehicles you may not see at first glance when changing lanes.

How it works
- Your ‘eyes’ are two multiple-beam radars in the rear quarter panels on both sides of your vehicle that detect when another vehicle enters your blind spot areas (radars can only detect vehicles, not pedestrians or other objects).
- When the radars detect a vehicle entering the blind spot area in the lane next to you, a light appears in your side mirror so you know not to change lanes in that direction.
- BLIS activates automatically when you start driving.

Did you know?
The basic rear radar range required by ISO standards is three metres. But after extensive test driving with customers we found that the perception was that cars ‘felt’ too close when the light appeared in the side mirror. A range of 4.5 metres created a greater sense of comfort.
